Free Resource for GCSE English Language: Zombies, Oh No!

Paper 2's writing question can be tricky, especially following the far more open and easier to plan for Creative Writing found within Paper 1. Instead of this lovely, loose "Write about a time when" or "Describe this image" you've now got a writing brief which asks our dear learners to swap their brains with an expert in a certain field! Write a letter to your MP....Write an article on the effects of music on the body....Write a speech for your school about inspiring people...Write a review of potential school trip destinations... and many more! I've always said Transactional Writing in Paper 2 is hard not because it's testing skills that are difficult, but because the questions themselves don't seem to reflect the cultural and lived experiences of the learners.
